Performances by Ryosuke Yamada as Edward Elric, alongside Dean Fujioka (Roy Mustang) and Tsubasa Honda (Winry Rockbell), showcased earnest effort. Yamada endeavored to embody Ed's spirited stubbornness and internal turmoil, though sometimes falling short of the required emotional gravitas. Positioned within a broader wave of manga-anime live-action adaptations, this film unfortunately did not emerge as a standout, instead serving as a critical case study in respecting the foundational spirit and narrative integrity when transitioning a work from page to screen, particularly within the challenging fantasy Steampunk genre.
